Camp Meeting 2017

Beit Shalom Balevav set up and ran a new booth at the summer camp meeting of the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Gladstone, Oregon.  The booth ran from July 18-22 and it draws thousands of campers together for a fun learning experience with family, friends, and fellow believers.  Its a time of fellowship, discovery, and serious Bible studies.  Each day there are multiple events, seminars, classes and activities for all ages (young and old alike).  The featured speaker at the main pavilion each night was Pastor Ty Gibson of Light Bearers in Jasper, Oregon.  Our congregation had the honor to have Ty at our synagogue a few months earlier in the winter to speak about the Book of Genesis and “Jacob’s Ladder.”

Our new theme this year was the ancient writings which would come out of Jerusalem and be carried through time and out to the four corners of the earth to all nations, tribes, tongues, and peoples (AKA the “first angel’s message”).  Our message this year was augmented by a brand new booklet that Dr. Alexander “Sasha” Bolotnikov wrote called “The Mission from the Remnant to the Remnant.”  Sasha was also able to speak mid-week in the Holden Center about the “500 years of Protestant Reformation.”  This theme, booklet, and presentation was the springboard for a 2-week series by Sasha and Pastor Ed Nelson in the fall of 2017 at the Whipple Creek SDA church called “Ekklesia” which describes the history of Israel and Christianity of the seven church periods of the Book of Revelation.

We believe that we are called by God, in our modern age, to be people of the Book.  A great work and no small privilege to be chosen by the LORD of heaven’s hosts to proclaim His faithfulness to the world.  We are honored to proclaim the gospel of Yeshua HaMashiach, the greatest truth and most important mission to ever be undertaken in the history of this earth, and for all time and eternity.

Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.”  -Revelation 4:8

The 12 foot backdrop to our booth was hand painted by an artist in Eugene, Oregon… Wendell’s brother Alvin Hartlauer.
